Turning complexity into clear, impactful user experiences.

Hi, I’m Julia Scheffer

I’m a Product Designer based in Leipzig, focused on creating thoughtful, user-centered digital products that balance usability, business impact, and technical feasibility.

UX/UI Design

Over the past years, I’ve worked as a UX/UI Designer on both client and product-side projects, designing and optimizing responsive websites, features, and WordPress-based products. My work covers the full design process, from user research and UX strategy to high-fidelity UI, design systems, and developer hand-off, always with a focus on creating scalable, accessible, and well-crafted experiences.

Alongside my design work, I mentor aspiring designers as a UX/UI Design Student Mentor, supporting them through feedback, portfolio reviews, and 1:1 coaching.

Experience

What sets me apart is my strong product background. Before fully transitioning into design, I spent six+ years as a Product Manager and Product Owner at platforms like moviepilot.de and upday (Axel Springer). This experience shaped how I approach design today, not just as an interface problem, but as part of a larger product system. I work closely with developers, facilitate workshops, align stakeholders, and make decisions based on user insights, data, and business goals.

Motivation

I’m particularly motivated by complex, data-driven products, where design plays a key role in making things understandable and usable. I enjoy owning problems end to end, from research and concept to final UI and developer handoff, creating intuitive, scalable, and accessible experiences.

I care about building products that solve real problems and create measurable impact for both users and the business.

If you're looking for a designer who thinks in products, bridges teams, and turns complexity into clarity, feel free to reach out. I'd love to connect.
